IsoGreen®: Maximize Plant Growth with Biotechnology

A unique matrix of isolates and algae affect plant growth at key developmental stages
PHOENIX, AZ (October 12, 2017) – Growers are constantly under pressure to effectively manage a wide range of conditions that affect yields from year to year.[1] One of those conditions, is the microbial activity within the soil microbiome, an essential piece to improving soil fertility and soil structure. We all know that “healthy soils produce healthy crops…[which] is directly linked to food quality and quantity.” [2] To alleviate the pressure put on growers to improve their soil conditions, improve yields, fight diseases and maintain high quality produce, BioFlora has developed IsoGreen®, a unique matrix of patented isolate technology, fresh water microalgae and organic acids that help restore the biological health of soil, improve plant growth and better resist plant pathogens. IsoGreen has been a labor of love for BioFlora scientists, who have meticulously uncovered the perfect balance of the three biological components within IsoGreen. “Isolate” is the term used to reference specific beneficial microorganisms designed to suppress soil-borne plant pathogens and increase the decomposition of organic and synthetic materials. IsoGreen contains two isolates, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens and Bacillus subtilis, two bacterial strains that form a strong endospore allowing the bacterium to tolerate extreme environmental conditions. These species improve the microbial profile of the soil and outcompete detrimental bacteria from diseases such as Alternaria, Fusarium, Phytophthora and many others. Combined with the fresh water algal species Scenedesmus quadricauda, IsoGreen positively effects the growth and metabolic capability of plants to improve growth in key stages of development: germination, vegetative and fruit development. In the field, IsoGreen has been shown to increase germination rate and seedling vigor while enhancing uniform plant emergence. In the vegetative stage, IsoGreen releases plant growth signals that activate new cell division in leaves, roots and plant tissue – further improving vegetative growth. As IsoGreen in applied throughout the growing season, produce size, quality and the level of development increase consistently – as nutrient movement and sugar translocation are enhanced. Suspended in an organic-acid base, IsoGreen activates existing microbial communities and increases microorganism diversity, which benefits the cation exchange capacity (CEC) rating of the soil and its N-P-K holding capacity, effectively building carbon content. Additionally, increasing microorganism diversity improves the soil’s ability to support stronger root development, hold and release nutrients for plant growth, and naturally suppress diseases. Beneficial amino acids and lipids contained in IsoGreen also help reduce plant cell damage, wilting and improve the soil crumb structure. IsoGreen truly maximizes plant growth and its ability to tolerate stress by building and improving soils, through stimulating growth signals and genetic potential. IsoGreen is effective in remediating soils that have been compromised through the overuse of synthetic fertilizers, which damage most of the beneficial content found in soil, create stress for optimal plant growth and cause accumulation of additional salts to form around roots or seeds. Critical to nutrient cycling is the balance of carbon to nitrogen (C/N) ratio. When the C/N ratio increases or decreases due to synthetic nutrients, soil microbes perceive this as a limitation of nitrogen or carbon, and nutrients in soil become inaccessible to plants. IsoGreen restores the function of soil microbes to access and hold the available nutrients in the soil, which results in increased yields. Salts can cause injury to plants and produce drought-like symptoms, IsoGreen counteracts high amounts of soil salinity and restores the soil’s biological function for plants, reversing stress caused by the overuse of synthetic fertilizers. To increase crop productivity, IsoGreen is best applied at planting to give crops the proper soil condition that supports the early growth stages. Crop productivity is vital for food security, and IsoGreen by BioFlora creates the right biological conditions in the soil for promoting better quality produce. IsoGreen may be combined with any fertilization program to increase the efficiency and effectiveness. IsoGreen is biologically stable and does not degrade easily. BioFlora recommends using 5 – 20 gallons per acre for the crop season, at 6 gallons per acre per crop cycle as a soil treatment. Proper dilution at a rate of 1:20 product to water is necessary through drip, pivot or sprinkler irrigation. IsoGreen can also be applied by furrow or flat irrigation by adding undiluted product to any water vessel, up to 500 gallons. IsoGreen is OMRI Listed and can be used on any and all crops.About BioFlora BioFlora is a division of Global Organics® Group (GOG), an international life sciences company that develops and manufactures proprietary organic and sustainable plant nutrition products and natural ionic minerals for human and animal health.
