Specialty Trials and Studies

ORANGE TREES

Baker Citrus Ranch – Location: Visalia, California

Purpose of Trial: Orange orchards had very poor penetration of irrigation water with water going into the ground less than 12 inches.

Using an Adcon Telemetry Satellite System, over 9 months of records indicated little water penetration to the 12 inch level. Could Humega™ open the compacted soils?

Results: An application of 10 gallons of Humega™ for one irrigation cycle gave an increase in water penetration within hours of application. Subsequent irrigation continued to add water to the 24” and 36” profiles with the lag time to get there much shorter.

AVOCADO TREES

McGhan Avocado Orchards – Location: Capenteria, California

Purpose of Trial:
To see if BioFlora™ Potassium 0-0-25 plus Fulvex™ can penetrate leaves and fruit as well as an Albion Laboratories Metalosate.

Results: The test area was divided into two plots; one with Metalosate Potassium 0-0-24 and the other with BioFlora™ Potassium 0-0-25 plus Fulvex™. The BioFlora™ application showed an increase of over 27% more potassium in the leaves and over 39% more potassium in the fruit than the Albion production. Obviously, the BioFlora products penetrated the cell walls of the trees more effectively, translocating potassium into the fruit far better then the Albion Laboratories product.

Herbicide Efficacy – Location: Guatemala, C.A.

Purpose of Trial:
Explore the addition of Fulvex™ to help glyphosate herbicides penetrate weeds more effectively.

Results: A quicker kill of the weeds was attained when using 75% of the recommended rate of herbicide plus the addition of 1 liter of Fulvex™ for each three gallons of mix; overall weed control was extended an additional two weeks.
