Nearly 30 years ago the public became aware of the adverse impact of petroleum based chemicals. The elimination of DDT was a result of the public outcry to Legislators. Since this initial rejection, the public is gaining an awareness of the damage to our environment and us as a result of the agricultural uses of petroleum products.
Men like Eddie Albert and Roger Blotsky were active in their efforts to define alternatives. It took their vision and such serious calamities as the Root Rot in Texas to awaken us to the destruction created by the use of these petrochemicals in agriculture. Because soils nation wide are adversely infused with chemicals. Our soils are not healthy, which is affecting the public at large. We are concerned as to our general health and well being and that connection to the food we eat.
Today there is public awareness that organically grown products are beneficial to both our environment and our personal health. Environmentalists once considered extremists are now being heralded by mainstream America. People are aware of pollution in our natural resources. In many areas bottled water is the norm. As a result large fertilizer users feel they must respond by the sourcing of organic fertilizing alternatives. Public and private golf courses are under pressure from adjacent residential home-owners criticizing the volume of nitrates being placed on these courses which then leach into the underground water supplies making them unfit for consumption. The movement is on. Global Organics LLC is at the forefront of this movement. |
