BioFlora® Celebrates Earth Day by Launching Recycling Program

May 25, 2016
PHOENIX, AZ (MAY 2016) – As leaders of the organic and sustainable industry, BioFlora® (www.bioflora.com) has made the highly anticipated change to become even more eco-friendly, by launching a corporate recycling program just in time for Earth Day (April 22). Earth Day is the celebration of a movement that began in 1970, which “gave a voice to an emerging consciousness, channeling human energy toward environmental issues”[1]. However, Earth Day is more than just a single event during the year, its true message is for individuals and companies to become an active participant in the well-being of our planet, by making a commitment to sustainable efforts every day, year after year. “At BioFlora, we implement sustainability through our agricultural practices, which are either organic or sustainable in nature. This means that we rely on biological processes and conditions, rather than the heavy use of synthetic inputs, which often create adverse effects” stated Luke Blotsky, Founder and CEO of the Global Organics® Group, of which BioFlora is a division. “We are excited to now incorporate another aspect of sustainability, through a company-wide recycling program”. Recent studies from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimate that 75% of the American waste stream is recyclable, but we only recycle about 30%[2].  So as not to be a part of this cycle, administrative staff at Global Organics’ headquarter offices have now been educated on the importance of recycling, and how to incorporate items such as: plastic containers, aluminum items, cardboard, newspapers and other paper products into the recycling program. BioFlora’s larger production facilities throughout Arizona have also joined in on the recycling effort, sending large steel and cardboard shipping containers to local recycling facilities that would typically go to waste. BioFlora is looking forward to a broader workplace program to encourage additional sustainable business practices in the years to come. About BioFlora BioFlora is a division of Global Organics® Group (GOG), an international life sciences company that develops and manufactures proprietary organic and sustainable plant nutrition products and natural ionic minerals for human and animal health.
