Recent studies from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimate that 75% of the American waste stream is recyclable, but we only recycle about 30%[2]. So as not to be a part of this cycle, administrative staff at Global Organics’ headquarter offices have now been educated on the importance of recycling, and how to incorporate items such as: plastic containers, aluminum items, cardboard, newspapers and other paper products into the recycling program. BioFlora’s larger production facilities throughout Arizona have also joined in on the recycling effort, sending large steel and cardboard shipping containers to local recycling facilities that would typically go to waste.
BioFlora is looking forward to a broader workplace program to encourage additional sustainable business practices in the years to come.
